Great old school! Always a winner. What motivates me are; Dropkick Murphys, Tool (for those intense workouts), The Clash. You can't go wrong with old school punk!

    Stay strong!

    Hey Rocky,

That long fully aerobic run will make you a slower and less powerful boxer because boxing is anaerobic. Don't you read Ryan Lee's blog????? Get a proper workout at strengthcoach.com to be a better athlete and stop wasting your time killing muscle and lowering your testosterone with long aerobic jogging sessions.

Depending on what I am doing, I like Paralyzer, Finger Eleven and Man! I Feel Like a Woman, Shania Twain for circuits or American Idiot, Green Day for intervals. Rocky is definitely inspiring!!!

Depends on the workout, if it's a lift, I have to go with Godsmack ("I Stand Alone") or Sevendust ("Pieces"), anything by either band is great. For a long run gotta go with the same or "Lose Yourself" by Eminem or "Remember the Name" Fort Minor...just keep it flowing!

    Firestarter - The Prodigy
This is how I dissapear - My Chemical Romance
    Bullets - Editors
Standing in the way of control - Gossip

...then I few dance tracks, not sure on names as friends have mixed them but I enjoy an ecceltic mix with some classical to cooldown to.

Plus of course my own technique videos ;-)

I just turn on my Godsmack, Marilyn Manson, Disturbed, and/or Avenged Sevenfold playlists on my iPod, and proceed to let the butt-kicking commence. There's nothing like starting your workout with "I Stand Alone" or "The Beautiful People."

    Ryan,

Who are you kidding? I know for a fact that you have Barry Manilow's "Mandy" playing over and over.

I don't know how you do it!

    Ryan,
There is nothing weird or strange about listening to motivating speakers or audio books. You are strengthening your mind and body at the same time. I listen to PMA material with every work out. If I'm not listening to a CD, I've got ear plugs to get rid of the loud and obnoxious music played at my gym. Rocky is always good to listen to, it is the underdog overcoming by sheer guts, even with less than optimum training technique.

Stevie Ray Vaughan. "The Sky is Crying" is my favorite album -- a wonderful mix for any work out. But watch out, you may find your self stopping, filled with awe at his amazing guitar.

Pearl Jam's Rear View Mirror and State of Love and Trust are great to listen to if you want to spark up some passion and put it into your workout. Foo Fighters are great to listen to as well. If you like rap, Missy Elliot brings some strong beats.
  • Daryl Chumbley · 1 year ago
Can't go wrong with Metallica. But you gotta love a bit of Guns 'n' Roses Welcome To The Jungle!!
  • gina · 1 year ago
LOVE Black Eye Peas--have lots of it on my i-pod (My Humps, Pump it, Don't Phunk With My Heart, etc.). I also like anything by David Guetta (Love is Gone, The World is Mine, etc.) and Tomi (Baby Get Down). Has to be FAST and PUMPING for the cardio/strength circuits I do!
  • Sarai · 1 year ago
The song that gets me through a tough stretch of interval training or a crazy strength set is Lil jon & Ice cube "stop F****** wit me" Angry rap. Gotta love it!

    Chevelle
    Bullet for my Valentine
    Crossfade
    Deftones
    N.E.R.D
    Project 86
    Red Hot Chili Peppers
    Sevendust
    Stretch Armstrong
    Tool
    System of a Down

And to cool down I like me some Johnny Cash, John Butler Trio, Iron & Wine, and some Imogene Heap.

It was interesting. For awhile my Ipod was busted and my workouts just weren't doin it for me. I didn't see any change for 4 months. Then my hubby bought me a new one and my workouts have been AWESOME. It's all about the music!
